Zion River Resort

The Torellos

The Zion River Resort RV Park & Campground has been a real gem find for us. It has been open only three weeks, and it is already establishing a good reputation with fellow travelers. All the campers here this Easter weekend were having a great time as were we. The pool and spa were happy spots for relaxation, and many people had campfires in the evening. Remarkably, each site has a lovely, lush green lawn plus an area for a campfire. Each rest room is suitable for an individual or a family complete with a shower. The parking pads are concrete and very level. There is plenty of room for your trailer plus tow vehicle or your motor home plus a towed vehicle.

The camp store/rec. hall is situated in an airy building with a quiet garden in the back for drinking a cup of coffee and reading a book. All the roads are paved and great for riding bicycles. A telephone connection is available at each site. This provides a very convenient method of obtaining your E-mail from the comfort of your RV.

The park is located in Virgin, Utah still within the Zion Canyon area and a short drive from the park entrance. The location is lovely backing right up to the fast flowing Virgin River and within the figurative stone's throw of towering cliffs. The river is lined with mature, green cottonwood trees, and there is wonderful landscaping with many trees and bushes planted throughout the campground.

During our stay, there was an excellent slide show and talk in the auditorium about the Zion Canyon area given by a former ranger, He was very knowledgeable and pleasant, and he gave us an appreciation for the fantastic geography we see here with uplifted cliffs of many hues and panorama vistas of distant mountains and valleys.

One of the best things about the resort was the friendly staff. They made us feel comfortable when we called for a reservation and also when we arrived in the late afternoon travel weary and ready to settle down. Their good humored welcome was just what we needed to relax and enjoy the camp.

We were so happy with the camp, that we extended our stay by two days, and we wish it could be for a longer time. We are traveling through to our destination of Alaska, and we cannot stay any longer; but we do hope to return soon.
