"We are new to this RV full timing life style and chose Zion River Resort as our first
winter layover (and after staying the 08/09 winter we are returning again this winter
season). Every accolade you read in all the reviews is absolutely true. Location,
location, location combined with the very, very, very best staff and support people
we've ever met made our stay one of the best 'camping' memories we have in our
lives. Driving from St. George or Cedar City thru Hurricane and Virgin, Utah into Zion
River Resort gives you views of astounding and unforgettable beauty. The surrounding
crimson cliffs never present the same shades of color as the sun bleaches the area
morning, noon and in the evening. We easily changed our space in the park so we
could look out our 5th wheel back window and view the Virgin River, mesas, sky and
sunsets (all took our breath away). The RV resort is located within a few minutes to the
entrance of Zion National Park. We felt as if we were stepping into another world of the
astounding beauty of this area as we easily explored all there is to see. All of Zion
River Resort's amenities were top notch, clean and highly maintained which greatly
reflects the owners, manager, and staffs personal commitment to keep this park at the
best anyone would find. But what really made this a great time for us were the
snowbirds themselves plus the nightly get-togethers and weekly functions planned by
the management and support by the staff. We played WII games, attended movies
(popcorn included), sampled wine (different teas for us non-drinkers) and cheese, plus
had plenty to eat at the weekly banquets, not to mention plenty of great conversations.
We went with a group of hiking snowbirds (beginning hikers ourselves) and visited
some local trails complete with narratives we would not have found by ourselves. We
developed lifelong friendships from within this group of crazy RV people and carry
memories with us each and every day. We had a great time at a great place with
breathtaking scenic beauty, managed by fantastic caring people surrounded by
extraordinary snowbirds. This makes us look forward in going back in the future."
